Under the Regulation of the Republic of Serbia on handling substances that deplete the ozone layer (Official Gazette RS, no. 114/2013), all owners of equipment that uses fluorinated greenhouse gases (refrigerants) harmful to the ozone layer are required to check it regularly for gas leaks.
Besides ensuring that your equipment (chiller, refrigeration dryer and similar) runs correctly and at maximum performance, regular checks directly help preserve the ozone layer and contribute to sustainable business.
02The regulation defines the inspection obligation as follows
- Equipment containing 3 kg or more of controlled substances (refrigerants) must be leak-tested every 12 months.
- Equipment containing 30 kg or more must be leak-tested every 6 months.
- Equipment containing 300 kg or more must be checked every 3 months.
Every check is accompanied by a report on the condition of the equipment and installation, issued by a licensed service provider.
Take the necessary steps to make sure your equipment meets legal standards and to reduce potential negative impacts on the environment.
Fines for economic offences (non-compliance with the regulations) under the Air Protection Law (Articles 79–83) range from RSD 1,500,000 to 3,000,000 for legal entities and RSD 150,000 to 200,000 for responsible persons.
